Liberia’s Labor Ministry Remains Firm on Recent Firing…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Labor Ministry says it remains resolute on the recent dismissal of five employees of the Ministry.

The employees were dismissed in June this year for what the Ministry called impersonating as Labor Inspectors.

The Deputy Communications Director of the Labor Ministry, Frederick Baye, said:” The act of impersonating as Labor Inspector contravenes the Ministry’s core value and relevant Civil Servant Standing Order.

Mr. Baye also said while impersonating as Labor Inspectors, the five persons illegally collected money from nationals and companies operating in the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Baye noted that the Ministry is further calling on the public to avoid doing business with the five dismissed individuals on labor matters.

When contacted, one of the dismissed employees, Raymond Saah, declined to comment on the matter on grounds that it is at the labor Court.
