Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer Calls on Nat’l Legislature…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chief Medical Officer of Liberia has called on the National Legislature to consider apportioning special fund in the budget to cater to maternity and new born health across the country.

According to Dr. Catherine Cooper, as healthcare providers, they were trained to protect mothers and their newborn babies to grow healthy, but need more budgetary support.

Dr. Cooper disclosed that the Health Ministry has put in place measures at health centers across the country to cater to babies who are born with critical health complications.

The Chief Medical Officer commended all health workers for the sacrificial work in catering to newborn babies and mothers across the country.
