The project is sponsored by the West Africa Health Organization (WAHO), aimed at educating young adolescent girls to have clear understanding about Sexual Reproductive Health.

Ambassador Nkrumah stressed the need to address issues surrounding stigmatization by identifying issues of vulnerability to sanitary pads.

She said:” Supplying sanitary pads in schools and creating awareness will maintain the potential of young girls to impact their various communities.”

The ECOWAS Ambassador disclosed that a local organization, My Safe Pad, has introduced a new sanitary pad called sanitary towels to last for five years before being degenerated.

Meanwhile, those targeted are more than ten thousand school going girls in six regions, including Margibi, Montserrado, Bong and Grand Bassa Counties.

At the same time, the Managing Director of Safe Pad Incorporated, Constance Joetta, has praised ECOWAS and partners for the collaboration in the fight against SGBV in the Country.
