ECOWAS Parliamentary Mediation Mission in Liberia to Intervene in ongoing Impasse at House of Rep.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A five-member Parliamentary Mediation Mission of the ECOWAS is in Liberia to intervene in the ongoing political impasse at the House of Representatives.

According to a release issued recently, the ECOWAS Mediation Team is headed by its Parliament Speaker, Hadja Ibrahima.

The release disclosed that the team was sent to Liberia by directive of the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State, Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu.

The release id quoted as saying during the mediation process, the team will gather root causes of the impasse and its implications on the stability of Liberia.

It is also expected to propose concrete recommendations to the regional bloc and Liberian Authorities, including stakeholders in maintaining the country’s peace and democratic system.
