Pres. Boakai Consoles Gov., People of Niger…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has consoled the Government and people of Niger, following the death of that country’s former Prime Minister and opposition leader, Hama Amadou.

The former Niger Prime Minister died on Thursday, October 24 at age seventy-four, following a protracted period of illness.

  1. Amadou served as Niger’s Prime Minister on two occasions, from 1995 to 1996 and from 1999 to 2007, as well as Speaker of Parliament between 2011 and 2014.

A Foreign Ministry release said President Boakai, in his message to Niger’s Head of State, Abdourahamane Tchiana, said he is saddened over the death of Amadou on behalf of Liberia.

The Liberian Leader also prayed that God will console the bereaved family and strengthen the people of Niger to navigate through this difficult period.
