Liberia Seeks Non-Permanent Seat on UN Security Council

NEW YORK, USA-Liberia is poised to launch its bid for a Non-Permanent Seat on the UN Security Council on Friday, September 27.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah said:” The nation has embarked on serious engagements with global leaders to support the Country’s bid.”

Minister Piah noted that the goal is to ensure Liberia secures an overwhelming vote for a Non-Permanent Seat on the Security Council du ring the election in June 2005.

Speaking to ELBC from New York on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the Liberian Information Minister disclosed that ECOWAS, the African Union, and other world countries are already throwing their weight behind Liberia’s bid for the Seat.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah also commended prominent Liberians at home and abroad for pledging their unwavering support to the nation’s bid.
