Pres. Boakai Engages in China-Africa Cooperation Forum

BEIJING, CHINAPresident Joseph Boakai has arrived in Beijing, China for the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

President Boakai and First Lady Kartumu Boakai arrived at the Beijing International Airport on Wednesday from Indonesia.

While in China, the Liberian Leader is expected to participate in a special summit for African Leaders with the President of China, Xi Jinping.

At the same time, Members of the Liberian delegation are due to hold separate meetings with their counterparts on the sideline of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti underscored the strength and significance of the Liberia-China relationship.

Minister Nyanti said: “The longstanding bilateral relationship between Liberia and the People’s Republic of China continues to deliver mutual benefits for both nations”.

Foreign Minister Nyanti also affirmed Liberia’s steadfast commitment to the One-China policy, which remains a cornerstone of Liberia’s foreign policy towards China.

The Liberian Foreign Minister made the statement recently during her address at the ninth (9th) Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

The Dean of the Cabinet emphasized Liberia’s unwavering commitment to the principles and objectives of FOCAC, under the leadership of President Joseph Boakai.
