African Leaders Gather in Beijing for 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-African Leaders are converging on the Chinese Capital, Beijing, ahead of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Liberian President Joseph Boakai and the rest of the African leaders are expected to hold frank discussions with their Chinese counterparts about new levels of development cooperation.

China looks determined to push for the expansion of its cooperation in new areas such as the digital economy, green development, and innovation.

Africa and China have made significant progress in aligning their development strategies, with fifty-two African countries signing cooperation agreements with China.

This year’s China-Africa Cooperation Forum will run from September 4-6 at the National Convention Center in Beijing.
