Gender Ministry, Partner, Launch Fistula Project in Monrovia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Gender, in collaboration with ECOWAS Gender Development Center, has launched the Fistula Project in Monrovia.

Speaking at the launch of the Project, Gender Minister Gbeme Horace Kollie said:” The Project is critical in providing medical and financial support to women and girls suffering from Obstetric Fistula in Liberia.

The Project also seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the condition, its causes, and the comprehensive strategies needed for prevention and treatment.

Minister Kollie lauded ECOWAS for its commitment and unwavering support to women and girls in implementing the Fistula Project.

The ECOWAS programs are designed to enhance the economic empowerment of women and allow them to contribute more significantly to the economic fabric of Liberia.
