Gov. of Liberia Commences District Dev. Projects Implementation

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has commenced the process leading to the implementation of district development projects under the auspices of the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) in line with the National Budget.

The process is preceded by the deployment of a team of engineers to access the projects agreed upon by the people and their lawmakers.

The over three hundred projects are drawn from the seventy-three electoral districts of Liberia’s political subdivisions.

According to a release issued recently, the kick-off of the District Development Projects followed a meeting in April with the House of Representatives where the LACE Executive Director, Julius Sele presented to the body the Legislative Support Projects (LSP) Implementation Framework.

The LSP Project is intended to allow the representatives to construct various projects within their constituencies.

The release said the LACE Authority has partitioned the country into seven regions for easy mapping and accessibility of the earmarked projects.

The LACE Executive Director Sele expressed excitement that the people will begin to see impactful projects from their Government as a demonstration of inclusion in the overall governance of Liberia.

Mr. Sele emphasized President Boakai’s resolve to see the ordinary people benefit from the Government’s development initiatives.
