Grand Cape Mounty County Senator Alarms over Wildlife Invasion…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Grand Cape Mounty County Senator Darbah Varpilah is alarmed over wildlife invasion of farming activities in the county.

In a communication to the Plenary on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Senator Varpilah said:” Elephant invasion in Golakonneh District is undermining farming activities in the area.

The Grand Cape Mount County Lawmaker noted that over the years, there has been a repeated increase of elephant invasions in towns and villages, damaging water sources and food supplies.

Senator Varpilah is calling on the Liberian Government to intervene, as residents are fully dependent on subsistence farming and gardening for income.

Meanwhile, the matter has been forwarded to the Senate Committee on Agriculture for investigation and report within one week.
