Japanese Gov. Officially Approves $2.6 Million Grant…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Japanese Government has officially approved a grant of 2.6 million United States Dollars for the construction of the Liberia-Japan Wood Workshop and Processing Facility in Nimba County.

The landmark project is aimed at boosting the local economy by creating jobs and providing sustainable livelihoods for Liberia.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the approval of the grant by the Japanese Government underscores the strong bilateral relations between Liberia and Japan.

The Ministry said the project will be executed in three phases, designed to maximize impact and ensure long-term benefits for local communities and the broader economy.

Phase one will commence with a substantial injection of over 530 thousand US Dollars from the Japanese Counterpart Fund, while phases two and three will focus on expanding the facility’s capacity and enhancing operational efficiency, respectively.
