Senate Protempt Lawrence Stresses Need to invest more in Public Service

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Senate Protempt Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence has underscored the need to invest more in public service.

According to Senator Lawrence, investing in public service will ensure effective and efficient service delivery to citizens across Liberia.

The Grand Bassa County Senator was speaking on Monday, June 24, 2024, at activities marking “Public Service Day” at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.

She said:” Public service plays a critical role in the advancement of any nation, as such; policymakers must do everything in their powers to amicably address challenges affecting the Sector.

Meanwhile, Senator Lawrence is commending public servants for their unwavering contributions to the advancement of Liberia.

Speaking also, Civil Service Agency (CSA) Director General Josiah Jokai has described Public Servants as the foundation for societal growth and development.

Mr. Joekai said:” The unwavering resilience, commitment, and contributions of public servants continue to play a crucial role in meeting the needs and aspirations of citizens.”

The CSA Boss believes that the Day should serve as a reminder for citizens to celebrate the values, virtues, and sacrifices of Public Servants in the promotion of good governance and upholding the tenets of democracy.

Mr. Josiah Joekai, however, noted that public servants will continue to remain the fulcrum of a functioning government, ensuring the delivery of essential services to the citizenry.
