Inter-Ministerial Committee on Concessions to Visit Mano Oil Palm Plantation Today

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A high-power delegation of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Concessions is expected to visit the Mano Oil Plantation today, Friday.

The visit is aimed at resolving ongoing protests by some aggrieved workers of the Plantation in Bomi and Grand Cape Mount Counties.

A recent Labor Ministry release issued said the visit is due to demand by aggrieved workers that the meeting be held at the Plantation, instead of the Ministry of Labor.

The decision was reached by the Committee during a meeting held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, Chaired by Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin and Labor Minister, Cllr. Cooper Kruah.

The meeting was attended by lawmakers from Grand Cape Mount County, the Management and Workers’ Union of Mano Oil Palm Plantation, as well as the General Agricultural Allies Workers Union of Liberia (GAAWUL).
