Nat’l Elections Commission Certificates Winners of Recent By-Elections…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The national Elections Commission (NEC) has certificated Nya Twayen and Jeremiah Sokan as winners of the recent Senatorial and Representative By-Elections in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties.

The by-elections in the two counties were conducted to fill vacancies, following the election of Senator Jeremiah Koung as Vice President and the death of Grand Gedeh County District-One Representative Errol Madison Gwion.

Presenting the certificates on Monday, May 6, 2024, the NEC Chairperson Davidetta Brown-Lansanah said:” The documents constitute the legal authority of Mr. Twayen and Mr. Sokan as winners of the by-elections.”

In remarks, Senator-Elect Nya Twayen and Representative Jeremiah Sokan commended the National Elections Commission for the peaceful conduct of the by-election in the two counties.

They also vowed to utilize the opportunity to serve their respective counties and Country.
