Comptroller & Accountant Gen. of Liberia Directs Withholding of Salaries…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Comptroller and Accountant General of Liberia, Elwood Netty, has directed that the March Salaries of several Comptrollers across Government Ministries and Agencies be placed on hold for non-compliance.

About seventeen Comptrollers are affected by this latest mandate from the Finance Ministry, due to their failure to submit their annual financial statements for Fiscal Year 2023.

The annual financial statements of spending entities should have been submitted to the office of the Comptroller and Accountant General on or before March 15, 2024.

Some of the institutions affected include the University of Liberia, the National Public Health Institute, the National Aids Commission, Tubman University, the Liberia Airport Authority, and the West African Examination Council.

Meanwhile, Comptroller General Netty has reminded all Comptrollers and Financial Managers, as well as Heads of Government Agencies to submit their first quarter report for fiscal year 2024, on or before April 15, consistent with the PFM Law.
