Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire Convene Joint Commission in Abidjan

Liberia and Ivory Coast are convening a Joint Commission meeting this Thursday in Abidjan.

President Joseph Boakai and his host, President Alassane Ouattara are leading an array of both Liberian and Ivoirian senior ranking officials at the meeting.

The Joint Commission meeting is set to review crucial issues, including strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between the two neighbors.

The Liberia-Cote d’Ivoire Joint Commission Meeting was initiated in 1972 to promote peace, security, and economic integration, free movement of people, and exchange of ideas, goods, and services.

The Joint Commission also forms a common front in alleviating some of the many development challenges faced by both countries.

Meanwhile, President Joseph Boakai has reminded Liberia’s Justice Minister and Attorney General to serve with humanity and deliver on the agenda of the Liberian Government.

President Boakai made the charge when he commissioned Cllr. Oswald Tweh as Liberia’s Justice Minister and Attorney General, recently.

The Liberian Leader said:” The Government of Liberia is obligated to put the Country on the right path for the well-being of the Liberian people.”

In response, Justice Minister Tweh expressed gratitude to the President for his preferment promised to uphold the confidence reposed in him, and assured that he will bring professionalism to the job based on his decades-spanning legal expertise.

The commissioning ceremony was held at the Executive Mansion and attended by Government officials and family and relatives of the Minister.
