ELBC Mourns Death of French Newscaster Sidibe

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) is mourning the death of its French Broadcaster Steven Sidibe.

Mr. Sidibe died on Sunday morning, February 25, 2024, at his residence in Paynesville City, days after being discharged from the ELWA Hospital.

He died as a result of diabetes and related complications.

The late Sidibe joined LBS in August 2018, having previously worked at Kings FM in Monrovia.

Trained in France by Radio France International, the prolific Newscaster had stints with RFI and BBC Afrique, reporting from neighboring Guinea before returning home.

His passing on Sunday has left everyone broken at the Liberia Broadcasting System, especially the News Department, where he was assigned.
