Labor Minister Designate Vows to Push for Decent Work Act Amendment…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Labor Minister Designate Cooper Kruah says he will push for the amendment of the Decent Work Act to improve wages of workers if confirmed.

 Cllr. Kruah pledged to ensure better salaries and incentives for the Liberian workforce under a favorable working environment.

Speaking during his confirmation hearing at the Liberian Senate on Friday, February 16, 2024, Cllr. Kruah promised to give qualified Liberians first preference for job placement over their foreign counterparts.

The Labor Minister Designate said:” The Labor Ministry will encourage lawful involvement of foreign businesses in an investment-friendly environment under his administration.”

Cllr. Cooper Kruah then vowed to protect the rights of both Liberians and foreign nationals at workplaces without fear or favor.
