“Stick to your plan to bring War and Economic Crimes Court to Liberia”-Cllr. Gongloe

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Standard Bearer of the Liberian People Party, Cllr. Tiawon Gongloe, wants President Joseph Boakai to stick to his plan to bring the War and Economic Crimes Court to Liberia.

Cllr. Gonloe said:” People must be held accountable for the loss of over two hundred fifty thousand lives during the Country’s civil uprising.”

He expressed disappointment about the omission of the issue of War and Economic Crimes Court in the President’s State of the Nation Address at the Capitol on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Cllr. Gongloe believes that issues of such nature should constitute a priority lead of the President’s Legislative Agenda, especially after speaking about it in Monday’s inaugural address.

The former Presidential Candidate noted that Liberians have vested power in the President to take decisions on their behalf and as such, the War and Economic Crimes Court should be a priority issue for the Liberian Leader’s Rescue Mission.

Meanwhile, Cllr. Gongloe is calling on the President to set a Commission of Inquiry to investigate all recent suspicious deaths in the Country.

He said the Committee could be empowered to look into what he called unexplained deaths that have occurred in the Country in the last fifteen years.

Cllr. Gongloe said:” From the death of Harry Greeves, Michael Allison, and several Auditors in the last few years, Liberians deserve to know the actual account.”

The former Presidential Candidate said such an investigation would erase previously held doubts about those deaths and bring closure to the affected families.
