United Methodist Bishop Calls for Audit of Pres. Weah’s Gov.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Bishop of the United Methodist Church in Liberia, Samuel Quire, has renewed calls for a comprehensive audit of the outgoing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Government.

Bishop Quire, who chairs the Board of the Faith and Justice Network, noted that pushing for an audit should not be misconstrued as a witch hunt of former officials.

The Methodist Prelate said:” It is important that Liberian officials account for their stewardship in government.”

The Bishop’s assertions were contained in his New Year’s Day message titled: “Audit is Not Witch Hunt”.

Bishop Samuel Quire believes churches in the Mano River Basin should advocate for accountability and transparency in the Public Sector.
