Forestry Authority of Liberia Reminds President-Elect Boakai of Forest Potential…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Forestry Society of Liberia (FOSOLib) has communicated with President-elect, Joseph Boakai, about the immense potential of the Forestry Sector and its future contribution to the realization of his AREST Agenda.

FOSOLib noted that the Forestry Sector is next to the Agriculture and Mining sector in terms of contribution to the National Economy.

The organization wants Ambassador Boakai to pay keen attention to sustainable forestry management to attract international funding support to the sector.

FOSOLib appealed to Ambassador Boakai to utilize the skills and potential of forestry and forest sector professionals who have the capability of developing a national agenda on the forest to bring more revenue to the government while protecting the ecosystem.

The Organization’s statement was contained in its Message of Congratulations to Ambassador Joseph Boakai and Senator Jeremiah Koung, as well as incoming members of the Legislature on their elections.

The Forestry Society of Liberia is a national forestry and forest sector professional and technical body comprising veteran foresters, active service foresters, forest practitioners, and forestry students.

FOSOLib is a non-political and non-religious organization established in 2021 to provide a forum to advance science, technology, education, and practices towards sustainable forestry in Liberia.
