MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bhofal Chambers, has underscored the need for a sustained regional security structure aimed at combating terrorism.

Speaker Chamber said:” The move, when implemented by West African leaders, will end the increasing level of coups in the region.”

He made the remarks during an interview with journalists at the Roberts International Airport, upon arrival from an international roundtable conference over the weekend.

The conference, according to Dr. Chambers, was centered on the role of West African Parliaments in improving various sectors, including security.

Speaker Bhofal Chambers further described military coups in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea as troubling, stressing the need for urgent action to avert a power grab by the military.
