Pres. Weah Declares Today December 1 World AIDS Day

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has declared today Friday, December 1 as World AIDS Day to be observed as a Working Holiday.

The day is in recognition of the immense contributions of the United Nations to combat HIV and AIDS across the globe.

A Presidential Proclamation calls on all Ministries, Agencies of the Government of Liberia, local and international organizations, and the public to organize and execute programs befitting the day.

According to a Foreign Ministry release issued recently, this year’s World AIDS Day will be celebrated under the global theme: “Let Communities Lead”, and the national theme:” Communities Lead with Equality and Diversity to Eliminate AIDS.”
