Pres. Weah Declares Today Wednesday, November 29, National Holiday

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has declared today Wednesday, November 29 as the 128th Birth Anniversary of President William V.S. Tubman, to be observed as a National Holiday across Liberia.

The Proclamation ordered all ministries and agencies of Government, businesses houses and marketplaces to be closed on that day from six O’clock ante meridian to six O’clock post meridian.

According to a Foreign Ministry release issued recently, the observance is in recognition of President Tubman’s productive and meaningful services to Liberia.

It mentioned that President Tubman introduced the integration Policy, granted suffrage to Liberian women, the Open Door Policy, as well as many other Socio-Economic Development policies and initiatives.

At its 3rd Session, the 42nd National Legislature enacted legislation, declaring November 29 of each year as the Birth Anniversary of the late President William V.S. Tubman.
