Liberia Immigration Service Re-opens Borders

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia Immigration Services (LIS) has announced the re-opening of borders across the country.

LIS Director of Communications, Abraham Dorley, said the borders were closed for the October 10 Elections.

Mr. Dorley said:” The decision by the LIS Authorities was also intended to prevent cross-border intrusion by unscrupulous individuals, during electoral activities.”

The LIS Communication Director also urged Liberians and foreign residents to go about their normal activities freely at the various entry points.

Mr. Abraham Dorley, however, said:” Border closure will become absolutely imperative if there is any possibility of run-off elections.”
