Board of Commission of Nat’l Elections Commission Orders Re-run…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA Board of Commissioners of the National Elections Commission has ordered a re-run of the elections for two polling places at a voting precinct in Electoral District-Four, Nimba County.

NEC Chairperson, Davidetta Brown-Lansanah said:” The Board of Commissioners has since mandated the Secretariat to plan for the conduct of the exercise on Friday, October 20, 2023.”

Madam Lansanah told NEC’s daily press briefing on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, that the decision was taken following the seizure of ballot boxes from the precinct on Polling Day, October 10, 2023.

It can be recalled that on Election Day, some individuals reportedly stormed the voting precinct, took away the ballot boxes, and destroyed the contents.

Friday’s election at two polling places is a complete re-run, including voting for President, Senator, and Representative.
