Amb. Juli Endee Rallies Citizens to Denounce War and Embrace Peace

Monrovia, Monday, September 25, 2023 – Talk of war and threats of violence have been common place during the ongoing political campaign for the Presidential and Legislative elections next month.

There have been claims and counter-claims of war mongering among Liberian politicians with many accusing fingers pointed at some figures in the opposition.

These threats have now triggered a reaction from Liberia’s Culture Ambassador and Executive Director of the Liberia Crusaders for Peace, Juli Endee, who believes any call for war must be resisted by the people at any level.

Ambassador Endee has called on citizens, mainly young people, to resist any call for war during these elections.

Ambassador Endee said politicians making such desperate and inciting comments should never command any form of support from the people.

Speaking over the weekend at the wake keeping of the late veteran Liberian Musician Isaac Teakpo Gboking in Paynesville, Ambassador Endee stated that young people who have never experience war must not support any war monger.

She rallied the youth, mainly First Time Voters, to choose peace and reject those inciting violence and preaching war.

Ambassador Endee added that the gruesome experience and trauma associated with the fourteen-year civil conflict are things Liberia cannot afford to go back to.

She believes war can be more devastating for young people whose future will be in the dark, using the occasion to call on parents to advice their children to stay out of violence during and after the 2023 elections.

Through the Liberia Crusaders for Peace, the Culture Ambassador has been working in the communities, preaching messages of peace and a non-violent election.
