Southeastern Health Workers Network of Liberia Distances Itself from Purported Stay-Home Action

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A group under the banner, “Southeastern Health Workers Network of Liberia” has distanced itself from a purported release calling for a stay-home action.

The Executive Committee of the Network said at no time did it call on any member to effectuate a stay-home action beginning July 20, 2023.

The group said the release was unilaterally issued by its Secretary General, without the expressed approval of the Network’s Executive Committee.

The Network said:” While there remain some daunting challenges, continuous engagements with relevant authorities are the surest way of addressing the situation.”

In a release issued on Thursday, July 12, 2023, the group acknowledged that there are progressive steps taken by the Liberian Government to remedy some of the challenges, including steady increment in salaries.

Meanwhile, the Southeastern Health Workers Network has called on its members to report to work as usual, and not give credence to the purported release from the Secretary-General.
