Coastal Highway Project to Commence Soon

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Public Works has announced the official ground-breaking of phase one of the country’s coastal highway project to the Southeast by July 22, 2023.

Public Works Minister Ruth Coker-Collins said:” Fifty million dollars has already been made available by the ECOWAS Bank for the initiative.”

Minister Coker-Collins, however, attributed the slow pace of the project to the setting-in of the rainy season.

She assured of full implementation of phase one of the project in support of the Government’s Pro-Poor Agenda.

Recently, the Public Works Ministry and partners held a series of talks with the ECOWAS Bank to ensure the success of the project, which is expected to connect coastal counties to other regions of Liberia.

Minister Ruth Coker-Collins said the consultations began long since between the Liberian Government and contractors.
