Prosecuting Lawyers File Writ of Certiorari to Supreme Court…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Prosecuting Lawyers in the alleged murder case involving former Chief Justice, Gloria Musu-Scott and three others, on Thursday filed a Writ of Certiorari against Criminal Court “A” Judge, Roosevelt Willie, before the Justice in Chambers at the Supreme Court of Liberia.

The Writ of Certiorari is a court process that seeks judicial review of a decision of a lower court.

In their petition, the State Prosecutors accused Judge Willie of proceeding wrongly for granting defendant Gloria Musu-Scott and three others’ request for a Motion of Discovery to submit evidence within 24 hours.

The prosecution maintained that Judge Roosevelt misinterpreted the statutes and believes that their request to the Justice in Chambers will undo his decision, as provided by the Civil Procedure Law.

Meanwhile, Associate Justice Yamie Gbeisay has placed a halt on Judge Willie’s decision and cited all parties to a conference on July 12, 2023, in connection to said matter.
