Environmental Protection Agency to Begin Environmental Compliance Exercise Soon

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A nationwide environmental compliance is expected to get underway shortly.

The exercise will be conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in collaboration with the Liberia National Police (LNP) and the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

EPA Manager for Compliance and Enforcement, John Jallah, said:” The move is geared towards ensuring the sustainable operation of ongoing and proposed projects in Liberia”.

According to Mr. Jallah, the exercise seeks to ensure the health and safety of the environment, including longstanding issues of environmental degradation and pollution.

Also speaking, EPA Assistant Manager for Monitoring and Research, Joseph Charles, said:” The exercise will also focus on monitoring and analysis of the environmental media for sustainable management of natural resources in the Country”.
