British Embassy Clarifies Widespread Speculations…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The British Embassy near Monrovia has clarified, in a social media post, that it extended an official invitation to President George Weah to attend the coronation of King Charles III, in the United Kingdom.

The Embassy’s statement comes in the wake of widespread speculations that the Liberian Leader and entourage were not officially by the British Government.

But in a brief statement on the official website of the Embassy on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, it said President welcomed and accepted the invitation from the Government and people of the UK to grace the occasion.

King Charles III and his wife Camilla will be sworn in as King and Queen of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland on May 6.
