Nat’l Elections Commission Chairperson Urges Women…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC), Davidetta Brown-Lansanah, is urging women to place priority on the 2023 voter registration process to increase women’s participation in the October elections.

Madam Brown-Lansanah wants women to do everything possible to set aside time within the twenty-one days of the voter registration period to register to vote in October.

Speaking during the launch of Phase Two of the Biometric Voter Registration exercise in Ganta, Nimba County, the NEC Chairperson said:” Women normally use domestic work as an excuse for political participation. Such a decision contributes to male dominance in electioneering and political leadership.”

The NEC Boss also called on young people, especially first-time voters, to desist from migrating from one place to another, to register.
