Local and International NGOs Monitoring and Evaluation to Begin Soon

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A nationwide monitoring and evaluation of local and international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) gets underway shortly.

The exercise will be conducted by the NGO Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Finance.

Speaking on Economic Hour on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, Assistant Director for NGO Coordination Unit, Pitah Tiepoh, said:” The exercise seeks to reveal the number of active and inactive NGOs operating in the Country”.

Mr. Tiepo also said when completed, the monitoring and evaluation activity will reflect NGOs that are operating without accreditation certificates and operational plans not aligning with Government’s development agenda.

Also speaking, the Director for NGO Coordination Unit, Alfred Jardiah, called for the conduct of a census in the fifteen counties to uncover county-based and illegal NGOs operating in the Country.
