MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The University of Liberia (UL) is poised to offer Liberia’s first graduate and post-graduate degrees in Gender and Peace Studies.

Associate Professor Weade Kobbah-Boley said:” This is a collaborative effort by the UL and the International Academy for Peace and Gender Studies in Nigeria.”

She said this is geared towards achieving the United Nations Resolution 1325 that focuses on women peace and security.

Madam Kobbah-Boley spoke Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the opening of the two-day West African Regional Conference on Mainstreaming Gender in the Security Sector in Africa, taking place in Monrovia.

She said the conference is geared towards strengthening relationship to achieve gender peace and security in the region.

The Conference is being held under the theme:” Mainstreaming Gender in the Security Sector in Africa.”
