House of Rep. Raises Concerns over Western Cluster’s Legitimacy

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has raised concerns over the legitimacy of Western Cluster operations in Liberia.

The Plenary of the House said Western Cluster, as a big company, cannot be operating under a Memorandum of Understanding.

In his recent communication, Nimba County Representative, Samuel Kogar, argued that the Company’s operations should be ratified under a Mineral Development Agreement.

Meanwhile, a special committee set up to probe the Company‘s operations has established that Western Cluster owed the Liberian Government over Twenty-three-point-five Million United State Dollars.

However, Plenary has granted the Committee addional two weeks to complete the ongoing investigations into the matter.
