Asso. of Female Lawyers Wants Executive Condemn Violence against Women and Children

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A legal advocacy group, Association of Female Lawyers (AFELL), wants the Executive denounce violence against women and children.

Statistics have revealed that women and children are the most victims during and after conflict in any society.

But AFELL President, Atty. Philomena Williams, said:” As Head of the Executive, President Weah is under oath to protect all citizens’ rights under the law, irrespective of sex or social affiliations.”

She said as a non-political and non-governmental organization, AFELL is committed to protecting girls and women’s rights under the law.

The AFELL Boss also called on politicians to provide the platforms aimed at advancing the economic transformation of women and children during and after elections.

The Association of Female Lawyers President made the comments during the Walk against All Forms of Violence over the weekend in Monrovia.
