Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission Begins Validation of Liberia Action Plan on Statelessness

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) has begun the validation of Liberia National Action Plan on Statelessness.

Speaking at the opening of the two-day event on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in Monrovia, the Executive Director of LRRRC, Festus Logan, said the plan represents the Government’s desire to end statelessness in Liberia.

Rev. Logan stressed that the plan is a product of consultations with all actors, including the Liberian Government, civil society organizations and partners.

He added that the plan, if validated, will form part of a global campaign to stop Statelessness launched in November 2014.

The document is being validated involving other relevant Government ministries and agencies, with support from UNHCR.
