Liberia’s Ambassador to the UN Presents Letter of Credence

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Ambassador to the United Nations has presented her Letter of Credence to Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Ambassador Sarah Fyneah conveyed warm greetings from President George Weah, saying that her appointment is a demonstration of Liberia’s commitment to the fundamental tenets of the UN.

Madam Fyneah recalled the UN’s role in Liberia’s transition from conflict to sustained peace, and stated that Liberia remains grateful.

According to a dispatch from Liberia’s Permanent Mission to the UN, Ambassador Fyneah then assured of Liberia’s commitment to constructively engage the world body on critical issues of human rights, food security, peace and security, and climate change.

The Liberian Envoy then reiterated calls for the UN continuous support to the upcoming Presidential and Legislative Elections, and opportunities to promote Liberia’s National Development Plan.

In response, UN Secretary General Guterres , hailed Liberia’s transition from what he described as a very difficult situation to peace, and expressed appreciation for the partnership between the United Nations and Liberia.
