MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has rubbished claims by Nimba County Senator Prince Johnson that the Liberian Government is harboring plans to assassinate him.

President Weah said:” Senator Johnson is a free man like any other Liberian, and has the right to move in any political direction he chooses.”

He said despite Senator Johnson’s fierce human rights records from the day of the Liberian Civil War, his government has been striving to accommodate everyone.

The Liberian Leader was reacting to Senator Johnson’s recent outburst in which he threatened to pull his Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) Party out of its collaboration with the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).

President George Weah said he will never offer five-cents to Senator Johnson, and would rather use such money to better the lives of the Liberian people.
