Armed Forces of Liberia to begin 66th Armed Forces Day celebrations

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of National Defense has released official itinerary for the observance of the 66th Armed Forces Day celebrations.

A Defense Ministry statement says the observance of the day will kick off on Friday, February 3, 2023, with a Jumma Service at the Edward Beyan Kesselly Military Barracks, where prayer for the protection and blessings for the AFL soldiers will be offered by Muslims.

The 66th Armed Forces Day will be held under the theme:” Inter-Agency Collaboration: Working Together for Peaceful Elections.”

Assistant Defense Minister for Public Affairs, Sam Collins, told a news conference on Thursday, January 26, 2023, that in partnership with GSM Lone Star, planned activities for the celebrations include medical outreach, units display, and symposium and sports tournament.

According to Assistant Minister Collins, the symposium will take place on Thursday, February 7, on the topic:” Fostering Effective Stakeholders Engagement for Sustainable Democracy.”

This year’s Armed Forces Day Keynote Speaker is the 46th Military Police Command of the Michigan Guard Major General Pablo Estrado.
