Former Pres. Sirleaf apologizes to Nobel Laurette Gbowee…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has made an open apology to Nobel Laurette Gbowee, on behalf of the opposition Unity Party.

Madam Gbowee has been a target for insults and social media attacks after she issued an open letter to UP Political Leader, Joseph Boakai, asking him to back off from politics and focus on his health.

Speaking in an ELBC interview on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, Madam Sirleaf said insults from UP partisans directed at Madam Gbowee are completely unmerited.

The former UP Standard Bearer said:” It is wrong to politicize the health situation of the former Vice President.”

Meanwhile, Madam Sirleaf has claimed her membership is yet to be reactivated, because the Party hierarchy is afraid of her.

Though Madam Sirleaf did not explain further, her influence in the former ruling Party remains grounded.
