Deputy Info Minister Tonpoe Challenges Opposition Politicians…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs of the Republic of Liberia has challenged opposition politicians to uphold the sanctity of the Liberian media.

Speaking on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, during a special MICAT Press Briefing in Monrovia, Minister Jarlawah Tonpoe urged politicians not to use the media to tell stories that are far from the truth.

Minister Tonpoe said:” The media should, instead, be used to accurately educate the people and report factual information about activities of Government.”

He accused most people desirous of seeking state power of using the press to tarnish the reputation of the incumbent Government.

Minister Tonpoe also emphasized that the Ministry is under statutory mandate to continue propagating Government’s policies and programs.
