MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The African Development Bank (ADB) has extolled Liberia for the economic resilience and recovery amid its recent economic growth contraction and global shocks.

ADB Executive Director for the Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Sudan, Rufus Darkortey, said the Country’s success story of economic recovery under the leadership of President George Weah is laudable.

Mr. Darkortey said:” Private sector-led growth is crucial to accelerating development in member countries and Africa as a whole.”

He also encouraged constituent member countries to invest more in domestic resources mobilization to complement support provided multilateral development institutions.

According to a recent release issued, the ADB Executive Director made the statement during his recent consultation mission to Liberia to discuss the Bank’s existing engagements with Liberian authorities.
