MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Assistant Professor of Forest Economics at the University of Liberia is calling for the establishment of a department of rice at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Mr. Jerome Nyenka said:” The establishment of such department will not dominate the sector but regulate it and buttress Government’s quest to invest into the soil.”

He made the comment on LNTV- Liberia Today, Monday, October 17, 2022, in commemoration of International Day for the Eradication of Poverty observed on October 17 each year.

It is a day to raise awareness about the global issue of poverty and how it is a violation of human rights and of human dignity.

The Liberian educator urged the public to take practical steps toward eradicating poverty.
