MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Education has ordered the reopening of all schools on today Monday, September 5, 2022, for Academic 2022/2023.

The Ministry further directs that classes should begin immediately, while registration for all schools continues up to September 15, 2022.

In a release issued on Sunday, September 4, 2022, the Ministry said the move is consistent with the 20911 Education Law, which calls for two-hundred instructional days for better learning outcomes.

The Ministry has since cautioned all school administrators and education stakeholders to fully comply with the Ministry’s regulations and policies.

It warned of severe punishment for schools found in violation of the latest mandate.

The mandate is coming at a time when Education Minister, Ansu Sonii, is due to appear at the House of Representatives this week, to explain why schools should open amid ongoing graduations.
