MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Liberia says the EU is at the side of the people of Liberia, to ensure that policies of the Pro-Poor Agenda (PAPD) reach their goals.

Ambassador Laurent Delahousse said:” The EU wants considerable funds concerned for projects under the PAPD are properly utilized and not diverted for personal gain by unscrupulous individuals.”

The EU Ambassador’s statement is in support of US Ambassador Michael McCarthy, during his announcement of sanctions on three top officials of Government for public corruption.

Ambassador Delahousse said he has faith that the Liberian Government, under the leadership of President George Weah, is making the best moves in such regards.

He spoke Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at program marking the commissioning of the new Congo Town Electricity Sub-station on the Old Road, funded by the EU.
