Civil Law Court Judge orders arrest of Public Works Minister…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Civil Law Court Judge Nancy Sammie has ordered the arrest of Public Works Minister Ruth Coker–Collins and the Ministry’s Lawyer Cllr. Dallamah Sulonteh, for refusing to appear in court.

They were held in contempt for failing to show up, after being summoned several times by the court.

Judge Sammie said:” Minister Collins and Cllr. Sulonteh’s refusal to appear in court is an affront and gross disrespect to the court.”

In the writ issued Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Judge Sammie mandated the Sheriff of the Civil Law Court to incarcerate the Minister and her lawyer at the Monrovia Central Prison for a one-month period, upon arrest.

The judge’s action followed a lawsuit from Businessman Tokpa Flomo, who is seeking two-hundred-thousand United States Dollars for action of damage against the Public Works Minister and her deputies at the Civil Law Court.
