Pres. Weah nominates new Vice Chair of Governance Commission

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has nominated Madam Elizabeth Dorkin as Vice Chair of the Governance Commission.

The Governance Commission is charged with the responsibility of advising, designing and formulating appropriate policies and institutional frameworks required for achieving good governance.

Making the nomination recently, President Weah urged Madam Dorkin to work with her colleagues to ensure that the mandate of the Commission is scrupulously implemented.

The appointment is under Section 5.2 of the Act that established the Governance Commission (GC), and is based on the qualification, experience, and commitment of the new Vice Chair of the Governance Commission.

A statement from the Executive Mansion said the appointment is subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate, where applicable.
